The fireworks weren’t the only thing on fire at Stadium of Fire this past weekend! The Waspettes celebrated the 4th of July this year by performing at the event. They were given the opportunity to dance with over 400 dancers from Utah, Arizona, and Idaho. To prepare for the show the Waspettes had to endure 3 days of intense outdoor practices that started in the early morning and went until late in the night. The theme of the show was Women in World War II and the headline performer was Journey. Prior to these practices the girls learned two full-length routines. The first routine was a Rosie the Riveter piece and the second was a Rock N’ Roll mix, where the girls wore computerized wristbands that changed colors while they danced, which required a lot of precision with their arm movements. During the 3 days of rehearsals they learned a third routine and performed this piece with the group EepyBird, who did a Bellagio Fountain routine with Diet Coke and Mentos. The Waspettes and coaches would like to thank their parents for volunteering to spray the girls down and keep them hydrated.

Camp and Other Goodies
Camp is coming up! Wahoooooooo! Camp is the greatest because it gives our team time to work hard together, learn new dances, and create unity! I can't wait to see the amazing things that you will do next week! I'm sure you have several questions, so here is everything you need to know about camp:
Please let me know if you have any questions! I can't wait!
- Wednesday, June 21: PDC waivers due. You cannot participate in camp without them!
- Thursday, June 22: Practice as normal and then sister team time. Take this chance to help your little sister feel confident and ready for camp.
- Pair of gore boots (black if wearing long pants, beige if wearing shorts).
- Hair must be SECURELY fastened up BEFORE you arrive!
- Water bottle - you get WAY more water this way then waiting at the drinking fountain, and it takes less time! This is mandatory - so bring one!
- Camera - I'll snap pictures for you if you want.
- Snacks - lunch will be provided everyday, but you may want some snacks, too!
- Your daily requirements - so below!

- Camp ends at 4:30, but we will run through our "Black and Gold" routine, etc. Plan transportation to pick you up at 5:00.
- Rest, practice, and get sleep!

- Camp ends at 4:30, we will practice until 5:00, and then we will have our weekly team time. We will be heading to Subway to get some dinner, then hanging out at the park and eating together. Pay for yourself - some bring some cash! Please let me know in advance if you will not be able to attend. Talk to your sister or an officer if you need a ride!
