Mount Timpanogos

On Saturday, our team hiked Mount Timpanogos! This was our "reward" for working so hard all summer!

Sunrise on Timp!
We got an early start, meeting at the High School at 4:30 am. We were hiking on the mountain by 5:30, just in time to see the sunrise from the trail.

It was certainly a tough hike, but we all did an awesome job and we all made it to the top! The hike was 14 miles round trip (7 up and 7 down).

Lunch Break!

The peak we hike to! If you look closely, there is a tiny white shack at the top...

We got to the peak in 5 hours, which is really awesome! We finished the hike around 4, so the whole thing took about 10 hours.  Way to go girls!
We made it!

Provo side from the top with a beautiful view of Utah Lake.

Sliding down where the glacier should have been! It was mostly just rocks.
The hike was hard but it was still a lot of fun, and we bonded even more with each other. We all have scrapes, bruises, and sprains to show, but the memories we have totally make them worth it!

June & July

Waspettes have been working so hard these past two months of summer! We kicked off June by learning our Military routine and working on our technique. We also cleaned our Hip Hop routine that we learned in May! It's super girly and cute!

The week before Camp, we brought in Kimba Smith for an intensive boot camp. It was tough, but we all worked hard to motivate each other to keep going! We definitely improved our strength with her help, so thank you Kimba!

The next week was our Precision Dance Camp! We all stayed at Jordan's mom's house for two nights, and we had a blast! We made lots of memories and definitely bonded as a team with our coaches. At camp, the theme was to keep it 212 degrees (the temperature that water boils). We all did our best to give that extra degree of effort into our dancing. We learned two fabulous routines that we are definitely going to perform for assemblies and football games!

July was our month off from practice, but that doesn't mean we weren't still working! Mcall created weekly kickbutt workouts that we were required to do. There was everything from running a mile to doing 100 burpees as fast as you possibly could! It was intense, but we know we will see the rewards of our hard work in the end when it comes down to performances.
