Camp Information

Waspettes and Parents,

I hope you are all as excited for camp as I am! Camp is really hard, exhausting, strenuous and demanding. It is also SO FUN! We will learn a really fun Camp Routine and an extra Half Time Routine, both that we’ll use throughout the year as well as some Pom technique on top of great technique classes. We’ll also have fun as a team and get to know everyone a lot better! The food is really good and the team activities at night are ones you’ll remember.

One thing that is different this year is that we are all spending the night together. We will be at Janet Rasband’s home in Valley Hills. There are some new items and improvements that I want to do this year and this is an easy way to save money for us by cutting the $700 on hotel rooms for camp. I believe it will be one of the girl’s favorite memories. The team will be able to shower and get ready at the house. Depending on the weather and what everyone decides to do, you can sleep outside or in the living room. You will need to bring sleeping bags, a sleeping pad, blankets and pillows.

With this note, you are getting a packing list, rules & expectations, and a schedule. I’m really strict about the rules being followed, especially during camp. The girls will be transported to and from the camp by a parent or the coaches. Parents, you’ll know where your girls will be at almost all times. We will only drive from the school to the house and we will travel together. The girls are NOT allowed to go anywhere else for ANY REASON. Mimi or I will be with the girls at ALL TIMES, so if you need to contact your daughter, please call us. This is a time for the team to bond and not be distracted with “everyday life.”

Everyone should have already received and turned in their permission slips. I can’t let the girls even come and watch without a signed permission slip – BYU is really strict about it.

Please feel free to call, text or e-mail me with any questions or concerns.
