Delta Competition!

Hey girls! This weekend is our first competition. We will be excused to go eat lunch on Friday at 12:15. At 12:45, we will have a costume check in the dance hallway and the bus will leave at 1pm. Here is a list of things you need to remember:

Preference!

Wow!! It's been a busy month! Two weeks ago, the Waspettes hosted their annual Preference dance. It was a huge success, so thank you to everyone that came! At the assembly, we performed a co-ed dance with the boys. It was super cute and the boys had fun being "part of the Drill Team" for the week. They worked hard and came to some of our early practices just to work on the dance with us. Thanks for working hard boys!

Great Basin Invitational

November 30 & December 1
The girls will leave at 1:00 pm on Friday. Please pay $20 before we leave to the office or to me to cover the hotel.
Girls will need to bring $3 to get into the solo competition and money for dinner on Friday night. Breakfast will be at the hotel Saturday morning, lunch will be at the competition, and they will need money for dinner that night if they plan to ride the bus home.

Parents that are planning on attending the competition there are some changes to the parking lot. They are doing some major construction on their parking lot. Here is a document that shows where you can park.

*Pricing: Adult $5, Student $3, 6 & under Free. Starts @ 5:30 pm
Saturday Team Schedule
*Pricing: Adult $7, Student $4, Senior $3, 6 & under Free. Doors open @ 9 am. Starts @ 10 am

It really makes a difference in the girls performance when they know they have someone supporting them in the audience. I know it is a ways to drive, but if you can make it the Waspettes could use your support! Thank you!

Preference!

Preference is this Saturday girls!! Here is the schedule for the day:

11:00 am
Leave for the Provo Beach Resort (you can carpool)
*bring a swimsuit (it is also recommended to bring a t-shirt and shorts to go over)
*bring extra money for other activities if you want
*money for lunch? or just bring your own?
**You must have a signed waver to do the indoor surfing and the ropes so make sure you fill one out and bring it (your date needs one too)!!

You can leave the beach resort whenever you want, depending on how much time you would like to get ready before dinner.

Meet at the Soldier Hollow Grill. Prices are around $15 a plate.

7:15 pm
Leave dinner

7:30 pm
Arrive at the dance! Please be there on time so we can take pictures!! Also, it is $15 for us to get in, plus extra to buy pictures.

**We have to stay after the dance to help clean up. There is also an optional Movie afterwards (not sure whose house?) for those who want to go.

*******Also, girls with no dates are welcome to come to the dinner! And if you have no date, you must also be at the dance by 7:30pm because we are taking a team photo!

Park City Football Game!

On Friday, Wasatch had their rival game against Park City! A lot of the Waspettes went to support our team along with tons of the other student body and parents. It looked just like a home game! The Wasatch Wasps left with a victory, 49-14. Awesome job boys!

Last Thursday, the Wasatch Wasps had an away football game at Union. This was the second to last game before the playoffs. They won 42-7! Good job boys! If they win the next game against Park City (also away) then we will have the home field advantage which means another home game! Play hard boys!!

Remembering Mia

This weekend, our hearts were heavy for our little Waspette, Mia Mcdonald. Mia is the daughter of our assistant coach Mimi. Mia passed away on October 8, 2012. We will miss this darling little girl, who we loved to see come and support the Waspettes while we danced. She's touched so many lives and we will always leave her a special place in our hearts. We love you Mia!

Mia Marie McDonald - 2008-2012 Mia Marie McDonald, beloved daughter of John and Marie “Mimi” Jensen McDonald returned home to her Heavenly Parents on October 8, 2012. Mia was born on July 8, 2008, in Seattle, Washington. Mia came into this world with challenges, but our baby girl came prepared to live life fully. Her family knew from the time of her birth that she would need a heart transplant. After many prayers on her behalf, Mia received the much awaited heart transplant when she was just four months old, from her angel heart donor Jacob. She is our little miracle and we feel blessed for every day we had with her. She had a special way of endearing others to her and connected with people everywhere she went. Her sunny and infectious personality would fill any room. She loved music and would dance instinctively. She loved singing primary songs, playing with her “babies,” coloring, eating “chocits” going to preschool, calling her “Aunt Nats,” giving “essimo kisses” and giggling. We will miss her affectionate, sweet, spunky and fun personality. This darling girl had a mischievous side and she would relish teasing her brothers and sisters, and loved when people would laugh when she said something funny. Mia exuded joy. Her tiny body radiated light every day of her life. Last week, the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Mia’s special wish to meet Minnie Mouse in Disney World. Upon arrival, she became ill and after being hospitalized her heart stopped beating. Although her heart recovered, the trauma to her tiny brain could not recover from injuries incurred while they were trying to resuscitate her. Darling Mia never made it to Disney World, but she will be giving someone else the gift of life by now being on the giving end of organ donation. Although few, we will cherish the sweet years we shared with our golden curled beauty, Mia. She will be dearly missed by her parents, her brothers Jensen and Sam, and her adoring second mother, her sister Ellie. She is also survived by her grandparents Sid and Cindy Jensen of Midway, UT, Dean and Laura Conway of Spanaway, WA, and Vern and Carol McDonald of Lakewood, WA, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and 60 cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Murray Giles, Fred and Aliene Jensen, Howard and Shirley Hallmeyer, and Floyd Vernon McDonald. We love you Miss Meena, our arms and hearts ache to be with you and hold you. We anxiously await the time when we will be reunited. “I missed you in na night!” Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 13 at the Midway Stake Center. A gathering will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday Oct 12th, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Mia will be interred in the Midway Cemetery. Please join us in the celebration of her courageous, joyful, life.
