June- Camp

Waspettes after our "Display Of Dance".
Yay! We made it through our first month of practice! We all worked really hard and have really improved over this past month. Our team is really coming to getter and we keep getting closer to each other every day. We've had many team bonding activities, many of which took place at camp. Camp was a success and we learned many routines that we are excited to perform. We were awarded the "Most Improved" award at camp, so great job girls! Along with our team award, some individual girls were awarded some of their own awards: Abby got "Best Technique", Mckinley got "Best Sportsmanship", Catherine got "Hardest Worker", Danaka got "Most Spirited", and Brianna got "Most Improved" and she took 3rd place during Drill Down! Way to go girls!

Sarah- WOW!

Sarah is the Waspette of the Week!

After high school Sarah is tentatively planning on going to Snow College for a year. She is excited about making the dance team at Snow College, and will be dancing with two of her fellow Waspettes.  She told me that, "As long as I can dance in college I will be happy!" Sarah wants to do something with kids.  She is not sold on teaching, but definitely knows that kids are in her future.  Possibly a nursing major, but definitely something involving children.  She said, "I just love kids!"

Sarah is the baby of the family and  her mother has always called her the peacemaker of the family.  She really loves spending time with her family, she admits they are her very best friends.  When she was young, she had a hard time pronouncing her R's- but has since mastered those R's.

Sarah doesn't easily get embarrassed, and is happy with whatever people want to believe about her.

She is happiest when she is at the beach.  She feels at home and the beach just makes her soooo happy!  She loves the sun rising over the ocean. She moved here from Florida when she was 11 and hopes to move back someday.  She also plans to visit Fiji as soon as possible.

Fettuccine Alfredo from the Olive Garden is her favorite food... she also quite likes their salad.  She enjoys most food, but refuses to eat sea food.  Her favorite Dessert is basically anything chocolate.  If she had to pick just one it would be chocolate cake... with fudge melting down the side.

Sarah enjoys watching the TV programs the bachelor and pretty little liars.

It was too tough for her to pick a favorite song,  but if she had to pick one song it would be
 "come on get higher."

Growing up she always wanted to be an actress.  She was Becky Thatcher in Tom Sawyer once.

Something no one on the team knows is that she is one tooth shy from having all of her teeth.

Sarah always saw herself as being a softball player.  She admits she is not sporty or competitive, but could see herself on the softball team... or being an actress.

Sarah loves LOVES movies.  She is a romantic and isn't afraid to mush over movies that get her heart.  Her favorite movie hands down is the notebook!!

She is admittedly OCD at times. she insists that blinds must be facing up and definitely not down.  She likes everything really clean... but excludes her room from that standard. Sarah has to sleep with a teddy bear, and cannot climb into bed without first cleaning her feet.

Sarah hates to drive due to her car accident, but thinks that if she had her dream car, a black out Range Rover, she just might enjoy getting behind the wheel.

If she could meet someone past or present she would choose to meet President Hinckley.

When Sarah was in fifth grade in Florida she was the winner of a writing contest.
She memorized her story and recited her work to the school and won.

Sarah's advice for girls on the team this year is: "First of all, keep the drama to a minimal because drill is so much more fun minus the drama.  Do not take anything for granted and live it up because it goes by soooo fast."

Sarah's favorite thing about drill team is having so many friends. being able to dance with all the girls. She said,  "It is so fun to dance with the girls... all of them!... and the fun dancing.... with the girls, and stuff." followed by a lot of laughing. :-)

Sarah, you have been so much fun on the team this year.  We just love your fun personality.  We are going to miss all of your extra little dances you do during practice.  We wish you the best at College, and know you will continue to be a fabulous dancer!  We just love you to pieces!  p.s. You had a lot of extra pictures, because I found the photo shoot we did after this post was done.  :-)

Hailey- Waspette of the Week

Miss Hailey was the Waspette of the week back in Oct.  We thought she needed some pictures taken of her as well.  We will be playing catch-up for a few posts. Hailey is the "little sister" of the team, as well as the little sister to Deidra.  We love have sisters on the team!

Hailey works really hard at everything she does.  She works hard on the dance floor, and works hard in school.  She currently has a 3.95 GPA.  She claims to not enjoy school that much, but I think her GPA tells a different story.

Hailey prefers Italian food to any other type of food, and especially a venetian chicken dish.  Her favorite dessert is glazed donuts.
She could also be talked into a toffee symphony bar from time to time.

Hip hop is Haileys favorite style of dancing to do herself.  If she had to chose a style she enjoyed watching the most, it would be modern.

Hailey is a dancer as well as a piano player.  She also loves Usher and the song "yeah" but has yet to play that on the piano.

Hailey owns a cat named Tinkerbell.  After Tinkerbelll, they had another cat show up on their doorstep so she adopted that one too.  Eventually she found out that her new cat that she named Peter Pan was actually named "Cesar" and it was her neighbors cat.

She loves the movie footloose that came out this year.

After high-school Hailey would like to go to either U of U or BYU Hawaii.
She wants to study interior design and architecture.

According the the other girls Hailey is an "entire body talker."  She utilizes her entire body when she talks and make a lot of hand gestures to get her point across.  They also claim she is really good at telling stories.  She is a natural communicator.

Coming to drill team everyday is really fun for Hailey.  She enjoys that she doesn't have to focus on anything else and she can just dance, and be in an environment where everyone loves each other.

Hailey's advice for future drill team members is:
"Try hard, bond with the girls, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!"

Hailey, the team wouldn't be the same with out you!  You work hard and it shows in your dancing.  Your coaches think the world of you!
