Sarah- WOW!

Sarah is the Waspette of the Week!

After high school Sarah is tentatively planning on going to Snow College for a year. She is excited about making the dance team at Snow College, and will be dancing with two of her fellow Waspettes.  She told me that, "As long as I can dance in college I will be happy!" Sarah wants to do something with kids.  She is not sold on teaching, but definitely knows that kids are in her future.  Possibly a nursing major, but definitely something involving children.  She said, "I just love kids!"

Sarah is the baby of the family and  her mother has always called her the peacemaker of the family.  She really loves spending time with her family, she admits they are her very best friends.  When she was young, she had a hard time pronouncing her R's- but has since mastered those R's.

Sarah doesn't easily get embarrassed, and is happy with whatever people want to believe about her.

She is happiest when she is at the beach.  She feels at home and the beach just makes her soooo happy!  She loves the sun rising over the ocean. She moved here from Florida when she was 11 and hopes to move back someday.  She also plans to visit Fiji as soon as possible.

Fettuccine Alfredo from the Olive Garden is her favorite food... she also quite likes their salad.  She enjoys most food, but refuses to eat sea food.  Her favorite Dessert is basically anything chocolate.  If she had to pick just one it would be chocolate cake... with fudge melting down the side.

Sarah enjoys watching the TV programs the bachelor and pretty little liars.

It was too tough for her to pick a favorite song,  but if she had to pick one song it would be
 "come on get higher."

Growing up she always wanted to be an actress.  She was Becky Thatcher in Tom Sawyer once.

Something no one on the team knows is that she is one tooth shy from having all of her teeth.

Sarah always saw herself as being a softball player.  She admits she is not sporty or competitive, but could see herself on the softball team... or being an actress.

Sarah loves LOVES movies.  She is a romantic and isn't afraid to mush over movies that get her heart.  Her favorite movie hands down is the notebook!!

She is admittedly OCD at times. she insists that blinds must be facing up and definitely not down.  She likes everything really clean... but excludes her room from that standard. Sarah has to sleep with a teddy bear, and cannot climb into bed without first cleaning her feet.

Sarah hates to drive due to her car accident, but thinks that if she had her dream car, a black out Range Rover, she just might enjoy getting behind the wheel.

If she could meet someone past or present she would choose to meet President Hinckley.

When Sarah was in fifth grade in Florida she was the winner of a writing contest.
She memorized her story and recited her work to the school and won.

Sarah's advice for girls on the team this year is: "First of all, keep the drama to a minimal because drill is so much more fun minus the drama.  Do not take anything for granted and live it up because it goes by soooo fast."

Sarah's favorite thing about drill team is having so many friends. being able to dance with all the girls. She said,  "It is so fun to dance with the girls... all of them!... and the fun dancing.... with the girls, and stuff." followed by a lot of laughing. :-)

Sarah, you have been so much fun on the team this year.  We just love your fun personality.  We are going to miss all of your extra little dances you do during practice.  We wish you the best at College, and know you will continue to be a fabulous dancer!  We just love you to pieces!  p.s. You had a lot of extra pictures, because I found the photo shoot we did after this post was done.  :-)

Hailey- Waspette of the Week

Miss Hailey was the Waspette of the week back in Oct.  We thought she needed some pictures taken of her as well.  We will be playing catch-up for a few posts. Hailey is the "little sister" of the team, as well as the little sister to Deidra.  We love have sisters on the team!

Hailey works really hard at everything she does.  She works hard on the dance floor, and works hard in school.  She currently has a 3.95 GPA.  She claims to not enjoy school that much, but I think her GPA tells a different story.

Hailey prefers Italian food to any other type of food, and especially a venetian chicken dish.  Her favorite dessert is glazed donuts.
She could also be talked into a toffee symphony bar from time to time.

Hip hop is Haileys favorite style of dancing to do herself.  If she had to chose a style she enjoyed watching the most, it would be modern.

Hailey is a dancer as well as a piano player.  She also loves Usher and the song "yeah" but has yet to play that on the piano.

Hailey owns a cat named Tinkerbell.  After Tinkerbelll, they had another cat show up on their doorstep so she adopted that one too.  Eventually she found out that her new cat that she named Peter Pan was actually named "Cesar" and it was her neighbors cat.

She loves the movie footloose that came out this year.

After high-school Hailey would like to go to either U of U or BYU Hawaii.
She wants to study interior design and architecture.

According the the other girls Hailey is an "entire body talker."  She utilizes her entire body when she talks and make a lot of hand gestures to get her point across.  They also claim she is really good at telling stories.  She is a natural communicator.

Coming to drill team everyday is really fun for Hailey.  She enjoys that she doesn't have to focus on anything else and she can just dance, and be in an environment where everyone loves each other.

Hailey's advice for future drill team members is:
"Try hard, bond with the girls, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!"

Hailey, the team wouldn't be the same with out you!  You work hard and it shows in your dancing.  Your coaches think the world of you!

Sam- Waspette of the Week

Sam is a freshman on the team this year.  She is a wonderful addition to the Waspettes!
Sam's nickname at home is: "Pean-Oil" she is not sure where it came from... or even what it means.
That is just what they call her.

A few things you may not know about Sam is that she talks in her sleep.  She also has been known to sleep walk.  Sam keeps pretty busy... even when she is asleep.

Another thing you might not know, is that Sam is a twin.  Jordan is her twin sister, and they sure look a lot a like :-)  Sam loves being a twin and loves her sister. Her favorite thing about having a twin is that she always has someone there for her, AND she has access to double the amount of clothes.  The two of them get along really well and Sam feels lucky to have her.

Speaking of clothes, Sam said if her house caught on fire the first possessions she would try and save are her clothes.  She loves all things fashion and beauty.  Sam wants to be a beautician some day, despite the fact that she strongly dislikes doing her own hair and make-up.

Sam's favorite subject in school is English.  She wants to go to SUU after High school and live in Cedar City. Someday she hopes to travel to England.  Mexico is also on her list of places to visit.

If Sam was not a dancer, she would be a singer.
She loves to sing and enjoys singing in the shower, even though showering is another task she wishes she could eliminate from her day.  Last song is one of her favorite to sing.

When asked whom she admires she said, "McKinley" then they both laughed.

In no particular order Sam loves Twix candy bars, chocolate ice cream, sherbet, Friday night boys (show), Johnny Depp, Michael Jackson, shopping with friends, prison break (show) and light blue mini coopers.   She loves to have fun and be with her friends.

Sam's favorite thing about being a Waspette is having 19 other girls that are like sisters that she can be herself around... have fun with... and escape from everything else.

Her advice to the incoming freshmen is to
"Be committed, have fun, dance dance dance... love to DANCE!"

We love you Sam!  You are a great dancer, a super sweet girl, and important part of the Waspettes!

Waspett of the Week Maddy

Madison Gregrich aka "Maddy" is our Waspette of the Week
She is the Senior Drill Mistress on the team this year.

Maddy is a great leader on the team and a beautiful dancer!
She renowned for her extensions and has incredible flexibility.  Maddy's favorite thing about drill team is  dancing with girls that are all sisters.
She loves being with the Waspettes at all of the competitions and the games.

Maddy just started beauty school at Bonnie Joseph Academy.  She plans to support herself through college using her trade.  Her college plans include going to SUU or UVU and studying  either business or elementary education.  She does know that she will definitely be minoring in dance.

Maddy loves Cesar's Salad, hot chocolate, brownies, and no bake cookies.  Yum!  If she won a trip, she would opt for a vacation to Paris or New York.  She has always wanted to see the sites in Paris.

Maddy is the oldest of four children.  When she was little she wanted to become a vet.
Another childhood favorite of Maddy's is the little house on the prairie.
She loved to pretend she was Laura.

Maddy loves to tap dance, but loves to watch lyrical and jazz.  Her passion for dance is evident every morning and during each performance.
Maddy works really hard and she pushes her self more and more each day.

Maddy definitely has a goofy side and she has a great sense of humor.
She is subtle, but has definitely got us all laughing time and time again.
When asked what is something "quirky" about herself she told me that when she vacuums she thoroughly enjoys creating lines in the carpet with the vacuum.

Maddy's dream car is a Volvo... any color.  She immediately replied, "OH, a volvo!"  Then she rattled off a list of other cars that would definitely do as well.

Maddy really looks forward to college because she can't wait to go grocery shopping for herself, and really looks forward to just being with roommates and friends.

"Take every moment in- because it goes by too fast.
Being on the drill team is something really special you get to be a part of!"

Maddy's dream is to be on a college dance team.  She plans on trying out this coming fall, and we wish her all the luck in the world.  You are such an important part of this team and a beautiful dancer!
Go Maddy!

Waspett of the Week Becca Kienitz

The Wow this week is miss Becca Keinitz!
Her nick name is "Louy" because she looked just like cindy Lou-hoo from the Grinch who stole Christmas.  The name she really wanted was "Shaniqua."

Becca is a senior this year and plans to head off to college at Utah State after she graduates.  She plans to study psychology, and art.  She is a wonderful little artist, and some of her artwork is at the bottom of this post... so buckle up! :-) She is also interested in interior design, but wants to use her drawing as a creative outlet for the rest of her life.

Becca loves to make people laugh and does a great job of it every morning.  She is always dancing... always!  Her dance moves usually get the girls (and coaches) laughing.   We love it!

When she is not dancing and making people laugh she stays upbeat and loves to have fun and be goofy.  She is an open book and loves to express herself. She can be found chillin' on the weekend with "noodle" and Sara.  They like to drive around town and she recalls enjoying when they "chug" pouches of Kool-aid at red lights.

Becca's favorite T.V. show is Glee, and she thinks Fin is pretty cute.
She loves all music and her favorite song changes on a daily basis.

Becca's favorite type of dancing to perform is hip hop, but she loves to watch contemporary.

If Becca could travel anywhere she wished, she would go to the Bahamas or Australia.  She loves the beach and wants to travel pretty much anywhere with a warm beach.

Although Becca isn't picky, and loves to eat almost anything... she finally committed to loving a "cookie monster" the most.  A cookie monster is a cookie partially baked, and topped with ice cream... yum!

Her dream car is a dark silver mustang.  However she is not a fan of traffic and claims she could never live in a city because of the amount of cars.
She is a small town girl and loves her roads open and free from too many cars.

Becca loves drill team and besides her love for her fellow Waspettes she loves how it has made her come out of her comfort zone.  She loves to perform and attributes it to why she is so out going.  Her advice to future Waspettes is "don't to be afraid to try new things.. if you do things you normally wouldn't... you might surprise yourself."

Becca's beautiful artwork!  Becca, you are one amazing artist and one amazing dancer! We love having you on the team and think you are GREAT!... not to mention pretty hilarious!
