One Month Down

The first month of practice is complete! The girls have been working hard and the team is looking great! The Waspettes have been conditioning, training, and have begun learning competition routines. We are excited for camp, parades, and summer practices to begin!

New Officers

Congratulations to our new 2016-2017 officers! We are so excited to have these girls help lead the team and take us to new and great heights!

Leadership Retreat

A handful of our seniors were able to attend the Basic Dance Training Leadership Retreat this past weekend at the Zermatt. The girls were taught and inspired on how to become better leaders to their team. They also learned different ways to warm up and cool down, reviewed proper technical dance skills, as well as attended a master class lead by one of Jennifer Lopez's main dancers! The coaches were able to attend great classes as well, it was definitely a worth while weekend for all!

*On that note, officer elections are FRIDAY morning! Waspettes, come prepared to tell the team why you should be one of their leaders!

Collegiate Dancers

Congratulations to two of our very own Waspette seniors for make Southern Utah University's dance team. Meagan Gregrich and Shann Rino are two of the 17 members of the Waukeenyans. The girls will begin practice the first week of August and will perform at SUU football games, basketball games, and community events. The girls' families, the Waspettes and their coaches, along with Wasatch High School are very proud of this amazing accomplishment and would like to wish these ladies good luck!

New Team!

Say hello to your new 2016-2017 Waspettes!

After a long week of auditions, we are please to announce there are 33 members on the new Wasatch High School drill team. The girls will begin practicing on May 2nd and will have a spring and summer full of training. You can catch a sneak peak of the new team during the parades this summer and look forward to fun football halftimes in the fall. Be sure to congratulate these ladies when you see them!

*There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting for all Waspettes and their parents on Thursday, April 28th at 7:00 PM in the WHS lecture hall.

"Starting drill as a senior, I felt like a Freshmen again. It was an experience I'm glad I got to have. It helped me grow as a dancer and be able to go outside of my comfort zone. No one gives the Waspettes enough credit! I thought it would be easy because they made it look so easy. The amount of effort it takes to make the dances look effortless is amazing! I don't regret trying out or only doing it for one year, I'm just glad I got to have the experience!"
